I explored the Leon County Schools Website, and while I could not access full-class webpages, I was able to see teacher contact information. This shows that on the LCS website, the publicly accessible teacher pages are more like staff directories and contact portals. I would imagine that students and families have a login to their actual class website. Some things on that website probably consist of classroom updates, and calendar with important dates and events, a weekly newsletter, homework assignments, and study materials.

In my future classroom, I plan to use technology to stay organized, communicate efficiently with families, and make learning engaging for my students. I want to use ClassDojo for its behavior management system and communicating with parents. I will definitely use Canva to create daily slides, visuals, and interactive activities for my class. These tools will be so helpful in incorporating technology in my classroom and doing my best creative work for my class.

Working on Assignment 2, the critical evaluation using Canvas groups taught me so much about lesson planning, AI, and using Canvas. I believe AI is a great tool to assist in lesson planning, but it definitely cannot replace the teacher's expertise. I think AI can cut down the time it takes to do lesson plans, especially the tedious parts like objectives and standards, assessments, and even creating new ideas for engaging lessons. However, the human expertise is still needed to tailor lessons to specific students' needs in the classroom, making the lesson tailored to the class, and knowing what will best serve the students. This assignment taught me that a "good" lesson plan has clear, measurable objectives, smooth transition, and checkpoints to evaluate students' understanding. It also made me aware that AI can be a helpful tool for some parts of lesson planning, but human teacher insight brings the creativity and heart. Canvas groups were useful for discussion and organization and I'm glad I've learned more about using them.
