 Working on the Web Design assignment has helped me become more familiar with website building software and creating teacher pages and education-related content. I learned how to organize my information into a professional and clear way to communicate with families. I used design principles like contrast and consistency. I tried to keep the colors simple and have the added color come from the pictures for contrast and consistency. I liked getting to be creative with concepts that I will definitely need to learn for my future class media.  I can't wait to put these skills into practice to better serve my students and their parents.  One way I might use QR codes in my classroom is integrating it into learning centers to make them more engaging. Last year, I decided to change my career path from nursing to teaching. I have always loved children and I work at a school, so I feel like I have some experience I can bring with me into the profession.   However, I am hoping to learn a lot from this class about how I can use technology to the best of my ability in my future classroom. I want to become familiar with the different programs I can use to make my students' learning experience as best as I can.  As I mentioned, my current job is in the after school program at a local school. I am with a "class" of students from third grade each day that I work, and we are expected to create activities for them after they play and work on their homework. I have been able to use programs like Pinterest to find amazing ideas for crafts, games, and other activities that the students absolutely loved.      At my K-8 school, we did not have personal iPads or computers, but we had classroom computers where we used Microsoft Word fairly often. Because of this exposure, I have been familiar with Microsoft Word for a long time and prefer using it over other word processing softwares. I find it user-friendly and I like the layout/setup, though that is just my personal preference. In high-school, we each had our own iPads under a Google account, so we used Google Docs, which was fine at the time. After coming to FSU, where we use Microsoft Word again, I found that it is my favorite. I think word processing softwares like Word are amazing tools for education and I will definitely use it in my future classroom.      The ISTE Standard for Educators that meant the most to me was standard 2.3a "Create Positive Experiences".  I think it is very important for educators to model the positive experiences that can come from technology.
