Blog Journal #8
Working on the Web Design assignment has helped me become more familiar with website building software and creating teacher pages and education-related content. I learned how to organize my information into a professional and clear way to communicate with families. I used design principles like contrast and consistency. I tried to keep the colors simple and have the added color come from the pictures for contrast and consistency. I liked getting to be creative with concepts that I will definitely need to learn for my future class media. I can't wait to put these skills into practice to better serve my students and their parents.
One way I might use QR codes in my classroom is integrating it into learning centers to make them more engaging. I could set up something like a QR code reading area where students could scan a code to listen to a read-aloud story or watch short videos about phonics. At a math learning center, they could scan a code to check answers or do challenges. This would be a fun way to make learning more interactive and help the students learn technology skills.
The case study I would address is the one where a kindergarten teacher uses AI to boost productivity in the classroom because she has too much to juggle in areas like lesson planning, class activities, grading, communication with families, etc. My solution is that the teacher can use AI as a support tool, but should never use things directly from AI. She should always review what it generates and personalize it to her class needs before implementing it. An example is that she could use AI to draft a newsletter but make sure the final version reflects her teaching style and meets specific students' needs. To avoid any ethical dilemmas and protect confidentiality, she must not enter any personal information about students into the AI program. I believe this is an ethical solution because it allows the teacher to responsibly use technology to save time and stay organized while staying authentic and professional.
I'm loving your website! The picture of you when you were little was a neat addition. I feel that though the design was very simple, it was very well organized.
ReplyDeleteContrast: Though the website didn't use a lot of colors, that actually worked in its favor. There wasn't any hard-to-read text and it was very digestible.
Repetition: The design throughout the pages was fairly consistent without seeming repetitive.
Alignment: The elements seemed very well aligned for the most part, however one of your Pinterest boards did not line up with the others.
Proximity: There wasn't any unused empty space, but the elements didn't feel crammed together. Nice balance!
You've done a good job at designing your site!
